Beetles, Butterflies, Bugs. Oh My!
Some critters are raised by our team in Santa Monica, and others are ethically sourced from farms in Thailand.
Each bag’s face has a smooth, hard encasement to protect the natural picture. It appears almost like a wet pond. Short of whacking the bag with a hammer or running over it with your car, the butterflies will be safe.
Made of real birch bark, orange tree leaves, Atlas moths, butterflies, dragonflies and more.
Each bag is made by hand in our workshop in Santa Monica, California.
The Good, The Bad, The Nature
Nature is nature. Each butterfly will be different. Each bag will be different. Expect inconsistencies, quirks, little broken antennas or leaves with funny wrinkles.
We are sewing over birch bark. Each piece of tree bark has scars and bumps sew the stitch lines will not be ‘straight’ as you would find on a traditional leather bag.

Frilly white or coral leaves spread across a glistening frame on this pebbled leather handbag. Perfect for a daytime autumn look or a night out, where the ruscus leaves seem to transition to glittering flower petals.
A hard glossy shell pools over the wings like water to protect the leaves for years to come.
The leaf-covered ‘pond’ is framed by a pebbled leather bag with a lambskin leather lining.
We hand place and attach each leaf to the birch bark to achieve an aesthetically pleasing wave of leaves.
No one bag will look exactly alike. Your bag is one-of-a-kind.
Please note, weather and season may slightly effect the shade or tone. Each frond is its own unique specimen. The ruscus leaves are grown on an orange farm where soil changes and temperature may result in a ‘more coral’ or ‘more pink’ tone. If you are worried about exact color match, the ‘white ruscus is very consistently the shade of white pictured.

Birch bag with your choice of decorations, leather colors, and flowers. You can be as specific as ‘Monarch Butterfly’ or as vague as ‘yellow butterfly,’ or just ‘butterfly.’
